Bespoke Celebration of Life & Unique Funeral Events in Kent
With Award Winning Celebrant Marc Lemezma
Creating The Perfect Celebration of Life
As dignified, professional, and caring as a Crematorium or church funeral service might feel, their time-limited structure isn’t always the right fit; however, a bespoke celebration of life is the answer.
This non-traditional, alternative funeral is not just a service, but a complete event, created without the usual constraints and the freedom to do things differently.
In fact, it is an opportunity to create an authentic and personal farewell, in a unique venue, that truly reflects the life, character, and wishes of the person you’ve lost.

Not Sure Where to Start?
Planning an alternative funeral can feel overwhelming. Perhaps, you may not even have a Funeral Director in mind yet. That is perfectly fine.
My role as your guide can begin right now.
We can have an initial, no-obligation chat about your first thoughts. This means I can suggest trusted, independent Funeral Directors in your area. These are professionals who are experienced in creating these beautiful, bespoke events alongside your celebrant.

An Alternative to the Traditional Funeral
A “Celebration of Life” service reflects a more modern approach to remembering a loved one who has passed away, celebrating their life in a way that holds relevance and meaning. This philosophy is the foundation of every bespoke service I create. This means a celebrant-led funeral will focus entirely on the person, their character, their story, and the memories you share. That said, there will still be solemn parts of the service that the right celebrant must balance with happier moments and cherished memories.
Therefore, as your creative guide, I can work alongside your chosen Funeral Director to arrange all the logistics. This means we can include the option for a celebration of life with the coffin present, allowing you to hold a deeply personal farewell at a venue of your choice before a private committal.
What Makes a Bespoke Celebration Of Life So Different?
This is an event curated based on your ideas and wishes, defined by its freedom and personal focus.
True Personalisation
The focus is entirely on the person’s unique character, achievements, and relationships. Because of this, we can incorporate truly personal elements like curated music, photo tributes, and displays that reflect their passions and hobbies.
A Unique Atmosphere
The tone is determined entirely by your wishes. While still dignified, the feel is often more relaxed. You have the freedom to set a theme or encourage guests to wear colourful clothing, meaning the environment feels authentic to your loved one.
Freedom of Venue
The celebration can be held in almost any setting that holds meaning. This could be a park, a private home, a hotel, a golf club, or a favourite restaurant. As long as the venue permits and can accommodate your wishes, the choice is entirely yours.
.
Flexible Timing
You are free from the rigid, time-limited schedules of a traditional service. The venue can be available for a whole morning or afternoon, allowing for a focused, personal ceremony that then flows naturally into a relaxed gathering for stories and connection.

Unique Venues for a Celebration of Life in Kent
This freedom of venue is what makes these events so special. As an experienced celebrant, I have conducted services at some of Kent’s finest and most unique locations. This means we can find the perfect backdrop that holds a special connection, from a grand hall to an intimate garden.
Beautiful venues like Chilston Park Hotel near Maidstone in Kent are perfect for a celebration of life. The grand setting, along with attentive staff and first-class catering, provides a strong sense of dignity and occasion. For something truly unique, the stunning lakeside setting of The Lapa at Kentfield Estate provides a tranquil and unforgettable space for a farewell. We can also create a beautiful event at a premium hotel, a private club, or a country mansion like The Sanctuary at Loyterton.
My Role: Your Guide, Arranger, and Celebrant
As your creative partner, I go beyond just writing and leading the ceremony. With 30 years of event experience and having conducted hundreds of funerals, I have the skills to help you build an authentic celebration from the ground up. I will listen, guide you on the practicalities, and (if required) help source suppliers and coordinate the venue, ensuring the day is a flawless reflection of your loved one.
Planning Your Bespoke Celebration
We will work together on the style and feel, then source a location that fits your wishes and budget. We’ll agree on themes, music, and decorations before I detail the programme and coordinate the ceremony with the venue, ensuring a seamless flow from the service to the moment refreshments are served.
A Note on My Role & Fees
My role as your creative guide is flexible and adapts to your specific needs.
Some families ask me to be the central creative partner, helping them source a venue and suppliers from scratch. Others may already have a trusted Funeral Director who will be managing the event logistics.
For this reason, my fee for this bespoke service is quoted individually after our initial consultation. It is not a set “package,” but a fair reflection of the level of creative planning, writing, and coordination you require to make your event a flawless and authentic success.
